Rob King becomes the second member all-time to represent KSU women's soccer in the Kennesaw State Athletics Hall of Fame.
 
The first head coach in Owl women's soccer history, he quickly made history as in his second year at the Nest. In just his second year at the helm, King led the Black and Gold to the 2003 Division II national championship with a school-record 25-1 record.
 
Overall, he posted an impressive 168-80-21 in his 14 years on the KSU sideline. During the Owls' Division II time under King, KSU won a pair of Peach Belt Conference regular season and tournament championships, as well as the Southwest Regional titles in 2002 and 2003. A two-time Southwest Region Coach of the Year, King was named National Coach of the Year during the team's NCAA title run in 2003.
 
He didn't slow down when the Owls made the transition over Division I status. King guided KSU to its first-ever ASUN title with a regular season championship in 2006. That was followed by regular-season and ASUN tournament sweeps in both 2007 and 2009, leading to the first two NCAA Tournament appearances in school history.
 
Involved in several areas in the KSU athletic department, King was instrumental in helping to bring the 2011 NCAA Division I Women's College Cup to Kennesaw and Fifth Third Bank Stadium, a facility he also helped to fruition while also serving as assistant athletic director at KSU since 2004.
 
During his time at KSU, King coached a total of one Division II All-American, an NCAA Division I Independent Player of the Year, 11 all-region players, one ASUN Conference Player of the Year, four conference defensive players of the year, an ASUN Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year and three conference all-academic selections.

Currently, King is the head women's soccer coach at Oglethorpe since January of this year.
