KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State led Detroit Mercy by two at the half, but couldn't stop the Titans' eight-goal second half as the Owls dropped a 13-8 women's lacrosse match at home on Sunday afternoon from Fifth Third Stadium.

Marleigh Belinfanti recorded her first career hat trick with a three-goal afternoon.
Shannon Harrington and
Sydney Bumstead both added a pair of goals as well, while
Alyssa Angelo finished with three assists.
THE RUNDOWN: The Owls defense was on point to start the game, not allowing a goal in the opening quarter. Scores from Belifanti,
Cohen Ridenour and
Shannon Harrington would give KSU a 3-0 edge after the first quarter. A pair of scores from Bumstead resulted in the Owls' largest lead of the game, 6-2 with 6:41 left. UDM scored the final two goals of the half to make it 6-4 at halftime. Harrington then opened the third quarter with a score 51 seconds in for a 7-4 edge. KSU then went cold and would not find the back of the net for the next 27 minutes. The Titans meanwhile scored nine unanswered the take the victory.
NOTES
-KSU lost despite holding a 31-22 edge on shots, though UDM led in shots on goal 19-16.
-The Owls had 16 draw controls to eight for the Titans.
