KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State women's lacrosse head coach Laura Maness announced the addition of Aislinn Sweeney to the Owls' coaching staff on Wednesday. Sweeney arrives in Kennesaw after spending last season with the Florida Shine Select travel lacrosse team and will work with the goalies.

"I believe Aislinn will be an excellent addition to our team, she was a standout player on the field and a true leader as a team captain. Additionally, her work with her travel team has fine-tuned her coaching abilities and a strong understanding of the recruitment process. I can't wait for her to contribute to our KSU team and specifically to coaching the goalies here"

Sweeney spent this past year with the Florida Shine Select team, where she was the 2031 co-coach and Jacksonville goalie coach. This past Fall, she earned her master's degree in public administration.

Sweeney last played at Lindenwood for the 2025 season, starting 15 games and recording a 10-5 record with 13.43 goals against average. As a team captain, Sweeney helped lead the Lions to the third seed in the ASUN women's lacrosse championship while leading the conference with a .460 save percentage.

In addition, she anchored the second ranked defense in ASUN, leading the conference in saves with 160, setting a new program record in the process. Sweeney was also twice named ASUN Defensive Player of the Week, earning Academic All-ASUN honors in the process.

Sweeney spent the first four years of her collegiate career at Albany, going 14-12 across 39 games played and 21 starts. The native of Halfmoon, N.Y. piled up 217 saves on 13.07 goals against average with 59 ground balls.

As a senior, she was a team captain and helped lead the Great Danes to the second round of the 2023 NCAA Women's Lacrosse Championship, earning an America East Defensive Player of the Week award in the process. As a junior, Sweeney was named 2022 Second Team All-America East.
