ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Kennesaw State women's lacrosse dropped a road contest on Wednesday afternoon by a 17-6 score at Lindenwood from Hunter Stadium.
KEY PLAYERS: Shannon Harrington and
Alyssa Angelo finished with two goals each to pace the Owls, while
Hannah Barth and
Abbey Behn both added one goal as well.
THE RUNDOWN: Lindenwood set the tone early, holding KSU to just three total shots in the opening quarter while opening up a 7-1 advantage. The lead grew as high as 10 for the Lions in the first half at 11-1, before the Owls finished the second quarter scoring two of the final three goals to close within 12-3 at the half. KSU would actually match Lindenwood's shot total over the final three quarters (20-20), but could not get enough placed in the back of the net to close the deficit more than eight. That came on the opening score of the third quarter on a shot by Harrington on a free position attempt. The Lions then scored five unanswered before KSU tacked on the final two scores of the afternoon.
NEXT TIME OUT: The Owls will close out the season on Saturday, April 27, with a road contest at Coastal Carolina. The game will start at 12 p.m. in Conway, S.C., and will be streamed live on ESPN+.
