The win improved the Owls to 2-0 on the season, and marked their second straight 20+ goal game.

Shannon Harrington and Hannah Davis meanwhile both posted three goals each. Julia Weiss was strong in the net for KSU, playing 42 total minutes and collecting seven saves and a .636 save percentage.

THE RUNDOWN: KSU took control early, scoring five of the game's first six goals for a 5-1 edge at the end of the first quarter. After the teams traded a pair of goals each, Davis started a 3-0 run for the Owls, and the lead grew to 11-4 at the half. The Blue Hose made a run in the third quarter, scoring half of their total goals to cut the margin to 14-10 with 1:58 left. Barth answered with a goal to put KSU back up five and start a 7-0 run over the next 11 minutes to put the game away.

POSTGAME QUOTES
KSU HEAD COACH LAURA MANESS
"We found ourselves in early card trouble, but we overcame some of the cards with some good offensive play. We emphasize to our offense about being able to score in man down situations to relieve some pressure off the defensive and help support the team, and we were able to do that tonight."
