KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State baseball fell in both games of a Saturday doubleheader to Boston College at Stillwell Stadium. After today, the Eagles (7-1) improved to 3-1 in the all-time series with the Owls (5-4) heading into tomorrow's finale.
KSU baseball is back in action on Sunday as the team concludes its series with BC at Stillwell Stadium. First pitch has been moved up one hour and is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase by clicking

Game 1: Boston College 7 Kennesaw State 4

Nick Zegna (1-2) made his third start on the mound and worked three innings. The right hander punched out five and allowed three earned runs.
Â
Blake Aita entered out of the bullpen in the third and tossed 3.0 scoreless innings. The freshman right-hander struck out four and allowed four hits in his third-career outing.

Smith Pinson threw the final three innings for the Owls and did not allow an earned run. The sophomore gave up two hits and recorded two strikeouts in his fourth appearance of the season.

Brayden Eidson led the Owls' offense and posted his second multi-hit game of the year with a 2-for-4 performance. The centerfielder slashed a double and scored a run in the contest.

Spencer Hanson had another nice day at the plate and extended his hit streak to 13 games dating back to last season. The KSU designated hitter finished 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Hudson Mimbs belted an RBI double in the sixth and ended game one 1-for-3 with a run scored. The infielder has recorded hits in six-of-eight games this season.

The bats were hot for Boston College in the first inning with three runs scored on five hits. The Owls answered in the third and tied the game on a bases loaded sac fly from Hanson.

Mimbs started the rally by working a 10 pitch walk to leadoff the frame.
Zac Corbin was hit by a pitch and
Nick Colina followed with a single to right field.
Donovan Cash recorded the first RBI of the day for KSU when he was hit by a pitch for the first time this season.

Nick Hassan singled to right that pulled the score within one and registered his 10th RBI of the year. Hanson then tied things at three with his sacrifice fly to left field. This marked the fifth consecutive game the KSU designated hitter recorded a run batted in.

Boston College scored twice in the fourth to retake the lead, but KSU cut into the deficit with a run in the sixth. Eidson led off with a double and advanced to third on a fielder's choice. Mimbs drove in a run with his fourth double of the year that pulled the Owls back within one. Â

The Eagles scored one run in both the seventh and eighth two move the score to 7-4 which held as the final.

Other KSU notables were Corbin (1-for-3, run scored), Colina (1-for-3, two walks, run scored), and Hassan (1-for-4, RBI).

Game 2: Boston College 6 Kennesaw State 2

Blake Wehunt (1-1) made his third start and went 5.0 innings. The right hander allowed four runs on nine hits with four strikeouts.

The Kennesaw State offense compiled 11 hits and were led by
Wade Richardson. The Owls' third baseman got his first start and posted an incredible 4-for-4 day.

Jackson Chirello entered off the bench and went 1-for-2 with an RBI triple. The outfielder drove in Richardson then came around to score on a fielder's choice from
Zac Corbin in the eighth inning.

Donovan Cash added his fourth multi-hit game of the season with a 2-for-5 performance. The sophomore has reached base safely in eight-of-nine games this season.

Other offensive notables for KSU were Corbin (1-for-5, double, RBI),
Brayden Eidson (1-for-4) and
Hudson Mimbs (1-for-4).

Connor Housley entered in the seventh and worked a clean frame. The junior allowed zero hits and struck out two.

Brendan Parks made his third appearance of the season in the eighth inning. The left hander worked a clean inning and punched out two batters.
Â
Tanner Franklin threw the final frame for the Owls and struck out two batters. The freshman has now posted eight strikeouts in 4.2 innings this season.
