KENNESAW, Ga. - Former Kennesaw State right-handers Braden Osbolt and Blake Wehunt each moved up a rung on the professional ladder, their respective organizations announced Tuesday.

Osbolt, a sixth-round pick by the Cincinnati Reds in the 2025 MLB Draft, began his pro career with the ACL Reds, the organization's Rookie-level affiliate. While rehabbing from the arm injury that ended his 2025 season and Kennesaw State career, Osbolt appeared in eight games with the ACL Reds, posting a 7.76 ERA over 26.2 innings.

The right-hander opened his 2026 season on May 26 and was stretched out to five innings in each of his final three starts, highlighted by an eight-strikeout performance against the ACL Angels on July 10.

Wehunt earned his promotion to Triple-A Worcester, Boston's top affiliate, after a strong stretch with the Double-A Portland Sea Dogs. The former ninth-round pick was twice named Eastern League Pitcher of the Week and went 5-4 with a 3.52 ERA in 13 starts for Portland.

Wehunt was especially sharp down the stretch, posting a 3.48 ERA with 37 strikeouts across six starts in June and July. He is currently the only former Owl playing in Triple-A and is one step away from becoming the 11th player in program history to reach the majors.
