Manu Johnsen recorded a school-record 22 kills (in a three-set match) as the Owls claimed their first conference road sweep of the season, 3-0 at Austin Peay on Saturday night in Atlantic Sun volleyball action. The win moved the Owls to 12-9 overall for the year, 5-5 in league action.
OWL OF THE GAME: Johnsen has now posted 20+ kills in four of the past five games, and her 22 kills ties the school record she set last week against Queens for the most in a three-set match, breaking the previous record of 21 that had been accomplished twice in the 2012 season. She also posted a .391 hitting percentage in the game.

THE RUNDOWN – The teams went virtually point-for-point in the first set, as there were a total of 17 ties, the last at 23-23.
Emma Schurfranz then finished things off with a kill and a block to put KSU up 1-0. The Governors took the early lead in set 2, and were up 13-11 when the Owls scored six of the next eight points to go ahead 17-15. The Owls would not trail again in the set, and again won thanks to a kill from Schurfranz for a 2-0 lead. Set 3 saw the Owls hold the advantage the entire time, going up as much as six points as they finished off the sweep.
