In The Hole• The Kennesaw State baseball team will enter the 2015 Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament as the defending champions after reeling off four-straight victories last year as the NO. 3 seed.
• A year later, the Owls will enter the week as the No. 6 seed and will take on the No. 1 seed North Florida on Wednesday morning at 11 a.m.
• The two teams are coming off a three-game set to wrap-up their regular season, as the two clubs played three one-run games.
Atlantic Sun Tournament Notes• This will be Kennesaw State's fifth overall trip to the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament.
• The Owls enter the 2015 A-Sun Tournament with a record of 11-6 in A-Sun Tournament play.
• KSU has a winning record in the A-Sun Tournament against every team in this year's tournament except Jacksonville who they have never faced in tournament play.
• The Owls enter Wednesdays match up with a 2-1 record against North Florida in tournament play with both of those wins coming in the 2013 tournament semifinals.
• KSU reached the championship game of the 2012 and 2013 tournaments before losing to eventual champions Belmont and ETSU.
• Last year Kennesaw State won the A-Sun Tournament. The Owls collected a win in game one of the tournament over ETSU with a walk-off grand slam off the bat of
Brennan Morgan. The Owls would pick up a pair of wins over Stetson before knocking off Lipscomb 7-1 in the championship game.

Kennesaw State vs. The Rest In The Regular Season• No. 3 Stetson – KSU went 0-3 versus the Hatters in the regular season
• No. 5 FGCU – Kennesaw State went 1-1 versus the Eagles
• No. 2 Lipscomb – Owls went 2-1 versus the Bisons
• No. 4 Jacksonville – KSU went 1-2 against Dolphins
• No. 1 North Florida – Kennesaw State finished 1-2 versus the Ospreys
Notes To Remember in 2015• Then ranked 19th, Kennesaw State hosted 25th-ranked Liberty in the season opener at Stillwell Stadium. It marked the first time in program's history the Owls hosted a matchup of two teams inside the top 25. KSU went on to win
the game, 11-9, with
Kendall Hawkins earning the win on the mound.
• Head coach
Mike Sansing won his 1,000th career game on March 27, 2015 against USC Upstate in a 5-0 final. Sansing is now in his 27th season at the helm of the program, and his 24th as the Owls' skipper.
• KSU landed the Team of the Year award at the Atlanta Sports Awards ceremony.
Max Pentecost, 2014 Johnny Bench Award winner, also took home the Collegiate Athlete of the Year award. Coach Sansing was also a Coach of the Year finalist on March 5, 2015.

Jordan Hillyer was honored as one of seven Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week winners on March 23, 2015.
• The Owls' win on the road at Georgia Tech Tuesday (April 21) night, it marked the first time in program's history KSU defeated the Yellow Jackets in back-to-back seasons on the road. Kennesaw State defeated GT last year at Russ Chandler for the first time since 1989.
• KSU took 2-of-3 from Atlantic Sun Conference foe Lipscomb on the road on April 24-26, defeating the Bisons in a regular-season series for the first time since 2011. In fact, the Owls defeated Lipscomb in a series on the road for the first time since 2006.
• The Owls finished the 2015 home slate with a 15-13 mark, giving KSU a winning record at Stillwell Stadium for the fifth consecutive season.
• Kennesaw State's showdown with Georgia Southern on May 12 will mark the first time this season the Owls are showcased on ESPN3.
Chris Erwin Named Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week•
Chris Erwin tied a single-game record for most strikeouts in a game with 15.
• He tied Kyle Heckathorn's record of 15 punch-outs set back in 2009, a single-game record since the Owls turned to the Division I level in 2006.
• It was the most strikeouts in a single game since Chris Sale of FGCU set the 15-K mark on April 23, 2010.
• Erwin also led the Owls offensively, leading the team in batting average (.333), hits (64), doubles (12), triples (2) and RBI (36).
• The two-way player batted .341 in conference play in 20 games, totaling 30 hits, six doubles and four home runs.
Mr. Bergen Doing It Again • The lefthander posted impressive numbers throughout the entire 2015 season, compiling a 6-3 overall record on the hill.
• Bergen ranked sixth in the Atlantic Sun Conference with a 2.87 ERA and ranked second in the conference with 82 strikeouts
• Just one of two Owl pitchers to make 13 starts on the mound, Bergen held opponents to an impressive .229 average while issuing just 27 walks in a conference-leading 94.0 innings on the hill.
• In fact, Bergen totaled 10 starts tossing 7.0 innings or more, and totaled two complete games. Bergen recorded a career-high 12 strikeouts against USC Upstate on March 28 and followed that outing with a four-hit, complete game shutout over Northern Kentucky on April 11 for arguably his best stretch of the season.
Hillyer's Hill• Named a three-time Atlantic Sun Pitcher of the Week and once named one of the seven Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week on March 23, Hillyer had a strong season on the mound.
• He ranked third in the conference in ERA (2.28) and finished tied for first with 91 strikeouts.
• Don't let his 4-4 overall record fool you, Hillyer tossed four complete games to lead the A-Sun and held his opponents to an impressive .212 average.
• Hillyer worked 87.0 innings on the mound, which ranked second on the Owls' roster and third in the conference in total innings.
Freshmen Making A Difference•
AJ Moore made 15 total appearances throughout the 54-game slate, eight of them being starts on the hill. He finished the season with a 3-2 record, posting an ERA of 5.11 in 56.1 innings of work --which lead the Owls' freshman in innings pitched.
• Moore totaled five starts in which he tossed at least 6.0 innings, with his best performance coming on April 15 versus crosstown rival Georgia as he tossed a career-high 7.0 frames, allowing five hits and one run to earn the win. Moore worked 10.2 innings in conference play making one start and four total appearances, striking out 11 batters.
•
Griffin Helms batted .267 in 90 at-bats, knocking out 24 hits, three doubles, one triple and one home run on the season.
• Helms, who played in multiple positions throughout the season, primarily in left field or as a catcher, raised his level of play in the A-Sun, batting an impressive .292 in 24 at-bats in 10 games against conference foes. He compiled seven hits and three doubles for four RBI. His .417 slugging percentage and .346 on-base percentage helped the Owls go 10-10 and make the conference tournament.

Taylor Allum batted an incredible .415 while compiling 27 hits, five doubles, one home run and 10 RBI in conference action. For the season, Allum ranked second on the team with a .320 batting average, while totaling 39 hits, eight doubles, two home runs and 19 RBI.
• The true freshman from Atlanta, Georgia,
Grant Williams ranked third on the team with a .302 batting average, compiling 48 hits --which ranked fifth on the team--, four doubles, one home run and knocked in 23 RBI in 44 games for KSU.
• Williams even improved his play throughout 19 conference games, batting an impressive .319 with 23 hits, one double and one home run. Not only did his bat make a difference for KSU, but his stellar defensive play at second base was a key for the Owls' success in 2015. Williams was perfect at second base in A-Sun play, compiling a 1.000 fielding percentage with no errors, totaling 48 assists and 38 putouts.
