» The Kennesaw State's women's lacrosse team prepares to play their home opener against the Winthrop Eagles on Tuesday, February 10 at 4 p.m.
» Sophomore midfielder Sydney Farwick was named Atlantic Sun Player of the Week after the opening game against Elon. She tallied four goals on four shots against the Phoenix.
» Along with winning the first A-Sun Player of the Week, Farwick was named to the Preseason All-Conference Team. Her sister, Samantha Farwick, and Laura Jordan were named to the Newcomer Watch List.
 
THE COMPETITION
WINTRHOP                                     
Winthrop opens its 2015 season against Kennesaw State.
 
The Eagles are set to start their third season as a program. They are picked to finish second in the Big South in the preseason voting.
 
The team is led by Jenna Kasmarick, who is the Preseason Big South Offensive Player of the Year. Last season, she finished with 67 goals.
 
Winthrop has some experience, but is also going to rely heavily on freshmen.
 
John Sung has been the head coach since the beginning three seasons ago.

The Kennesaw State lacrosse team lost a tough one to the Vanderbilt Commodores 24-1 on Saturday, February 7.
 
» NEWS AND NOTES
This Week in KSU Lacrosse
»    The Owls have two games on the schedule this week.They are preparing for their first home game at Fifth Third Bank Stadium against Winthrop on Tuesday, February 10 at 4 p.m. Then this Sunday, they will travel to Davidson to take on the Wildcats at 1 p.m.

»    There will be $1 hot dogs for all fans that attend the game.

KSU as a Team                                   
»    This year's team has 14 players returning from last season with five of those being upper classmen. Four of the players returning redshirted in 2014. Along with the returners, there are 11 true freshmen on the team.
»    The way Llanes set up the schedule this season, the returners and freshmen will have some strong competition leading into conference play, while also playing some programs that players are familiar with. Out of the ten non-conference matchups scheduled this season, the Owls will play five of the same teams that they played last year. Those teams are Elon, Vanderbilt, Davidson, Campbell and Coastal Carolina.
»    Kennesaw State Owl fans showed up to support the team last season as there was an average attendance of over 300 people a game.
»    The team was in the top two spots in the A-Sun in assists, ground balls, draw controls and saves per game through the five games in 2014.
» Kennesaw State was one of the top teams in the country picking up ground balls and winning draw controls. They picked up an average of 21.25 ground balls per game. They averaged 13.92 draw controls per game.
 
KSU Individually                               
» Sydney Farwick, the reigning A-Sun Player of the Week, scored four goals on four shots in the opening game against Elon. The four goals ties for the second most she has had in a collegiate game.
» Jessica Alderdice scored her first goal of the season against Vanderbilt and her fifth career goal.

Fifth Third Bank is the Official Bank of Kennesaw State Athletics. Fifth Third Bank Stadium is the home of women's soccer, women's lacrosse and football, which will play its inaugural season in 2015.
