THE COMPETITIONDELAWARE STATEÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Delaware State has started their third season playing lacrosse on a three game Atlantic Sun road trip. They started down in Deland, Fla. playing Stetson, and then traveld to Macon, Georgia to play Mercer in their inaugural game.

The Hornets lost its first two contests and will now travel to Kennesaw to complete its road trip.

Delaware State has 11 letterwinners returning from last season including five that have been there since the team's inaugural season in 2013.

Emily Etkins is the offensive leader as she finished last season with 20 goals. So far this season she leads the team with three goals.

Jillian Lontz is in her second season coaching at Delaware State.

Last Time Out                                    »   The Kennesaw State women's lacrosse team lost to the Davidson Wildcats on Sunday, February 15 by a score of 21-4.
Taylor McGhee led the Owls on the offensive end scoring two goals.

Coach Llanes on What They Focused on Against Davidson          »   "Today we went in focused on making adjustments on the draw. I felt we executed in this area. Connor (Zophy) and Haley (O'Donoghue) came up with strong opportunities, but our offense fell short in our decisions in attacking transitions."

KSU as a Team                                   »   With the added emphasis on winning the draw controls, the team won that battle against Davidson winning 16 to the Wildcats 10.
Sydney Farwick and
Connor Zophy combined to to match Davidson as Farwick had six DC's and Zophy had four.
»   The team also played aggressively on defense as the Owls caused a season high nine turnovers.
»   The way Llanes set up the schedule this season, the returners and freshmen will have some strong competition leading into conference play, while also playing some programs that players are familiar with. Out of the ten non-conference matchups scheduled this season, the Owls will play five of the same teams that they played last year. Those teams are Elon, Vanderbilt, Davidson, Campbell and Coastal Carolina.

Taylor McGhee has been on fire on the offensive end the last two games for the Owls. After netting a hat trick against Winthrop in the first home game, she followed that up by scoring two more against Davidson. McGhee is currently tied for the lead on the team with Farwick.
» Freshman
Laura Jordan has made an early impact on the defensive end. She leads the team with 11 ground balls and has three draw controls and two caused turnovers.

Allison Senft got her first start of the season and came up with seven saves against Davidson.
