The Kennesaw State soccer team wraps up its three-match homestand as the Owls welcome the newest member of the Atlantic Sun Conference, the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), to Kennesaw, Ga., for the very first time on Saturday (Oct. 3). Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. ET in Fifth Third Bank Stadium.
 
Saturday's match will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs, as well as the first meeting between the two schools in any sport.
 
Owls Suffer Heartbreaking Double Overtime Setback to Bisons in A-Sun Opener
Despite outshooting its opponent 22 to 12, the Kennesaw State soccer team suffered a heartbreaking 1-0 double overtime setback to Lipscomb to open Atlantic Sun Conference play on a rainy Saturday night (Sept. 26) at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.

KSU Team Notes
- This will be the first-ever sporting event between NJIT and Kennesaw State after the Highlanders joined the Atlantic Sun Conference on June 12, 2015.
 
- The Owls rank 39th in the nation with 23 total goals in 2015, while also ranking 49th in scoring offense (2.09).
 
- The Owls rank in the top-four in the A-Sun every offensive category, including leading the league in shots (166), goals (23) and goals per game (2.09), while also ranking second in shots per game (5.08) and points (60). KSU is also third in assists per gamer (1.27) and is fourth in assists (14). 
 
- Junior Cassidy Kemp leads all active KSU players with 12 points on the season, ranking in a tie for third in the conference in that category. Classmate Kim Fincher joins her on the list and is tied for fifth in the league with 10 points in her first season with the Owls.
 
- Kemp's five goals also rank in a tie for first in the conference for active players, while Fincher's four scores sits in a tie for third.
 
- Fincher leads the Owls and ranks in a tie for fifth in the conference with 28 shots on the year, with Kemp right behind her with 25 shots in 2015 to rank in a tie for eighth in the A-Sun.
 
- Sophomore Ida Hepsoe leads the Owls with three assists in 2015 and ranks in a tie for third in the conference.
 
- The Owls' double-overtime thriller against Lipscomb to open the conference slate was the second for KSU this season after taking Clayton State to double-overtime on Aug. 30 with the match ending in a 1-1 tie.
 
- Sophomore Ashley Zambetti returned to the starting lineup against the Bisons, recording five saves on the night and not allowing a goal in for over 109 minutes of action.
 
- The Owls outshot their opponents for the seventh time this season and the first since Furman on Sept. 11 as KSU posted 22 shots to Lipscomb's 12 on Saturday night.
