KENNESAW STATE AT ETSU Track and Field InvitationalINDOOR MEET 3 | January 16-17Johnson City, Tenn. | David E. Walker Track inside the Mountain States Health Alliance Center Kennesaw, Ga.- The Kennesaw State women's track and field team looks to continue its strong 2015 start when it travels to Johnson City, Tenn. to compete in the ETSU Track and Field Invitational at the David E. Walker Track inside the Mountain State Health Alliance Center on Friday (Jan.16). The two-day event concludes on Saturday (Jan. 17).
David E Walker Track:Located inside the ETSU/MSHA Mini-Dome, the David E. Walker Track has hosted numerous Atlantic Sun and Southern Conference Championships.

THE COMPETITION:The field for the ETSU Track and Field Invitational consists of 35 teams, including 16 schools from Division I. The Division I schools will only be scored against each other.
NEXT UP:The Owls will travel to Minneapolis, Minn. to compete in the Jack Johnson Invitational at the University of Minnesota on January 30-31 .
THE COACHES TAKE ON THIS WEEKEND:"The women had a handful of personal bests last week, so they are on the right track," assistant head coach #Duane Morris said. "After looking at the conference rankings, we discussed being more consistent. This meet will be a good test for some of our younger athletes because they have at least one collegiate meet under their belt."
NEWS AND NOTES:Senior
Daisy Helm broke the school record in the 500m with a time of 1:16.32 to finish fifth overall at the Blazer Invitational.
Junior
Shermaine Pinkard set the school record in the weight throw with a throw of 18.31 to win the event at the Blazer Invitational.
Freshman
Joyce Mattagliano set the school record in the mile with a time of 4:58.26 which was good for third place. Mattagliano also finished second in the 800m with a time of 2:09.93. Mattagliano was named Atlantic Sun Track Performer of the week following her performance at the Blazer Invitational. It marked her second conference player of the week honor this season.
