ATLANTA, Ga. – Kennesaw State track and field secured five event wins and a school record on day two of the Yellow Jacket Invitational Friday at George C. Griffin Track Facility.
Women's Recap
Keira Hight won the pole vault with a clearance of 3.90m (12'9.5").
The women's 4x100m relay team of
Jadyn Bolden,
Ebony Whyte,
Samiya Wayne,
Kenadie Singleton opened the outdoor season with a win in a time of 45.32 seconds.
Jermiya Winston (11.86m | 38'11") and
Kaylan McConnehead (11.84m | 38'10.25") took home second and third in the women's triple jump.
Emma Sullivan established a new school record in the 400m with a time of 53.10 seconds.
Samiya Wayne was fifth in 54.66 seconds.
Riley Perlakoski ran a time of 2:08.42 to place third in the 800m.
The 200m dash saw
Natalie Harris secure third with a time of 24.33 seconds.
Men's Recap
Gage Voyles and
Kenyatta Bennett had impressive marks in their outdoor high jump. Voyles won with a clearance of 2.16m (7'1"). That mark ranks No. 2 in program history. Bennett opened with a clearance of 2.13m (6'11.75") to grab second.
Chinedum Ike (15.27m | 50'1.25") and
Cameron Dean (15.26m | 50'0.75) took home the top two spots in the triple jump.
Freshman
Joao Dalandrea finished second in the discus with a mark of 49.74m (163'2").
Josh Jones established a ne school record in the 400m hurdles with a time of 51.81 seconds.
Eric Young II ran a time of 47.28 seconds to finish second in the 400m.
Justin Warner opened his sophomore outdoor campaign with a win in the 800m in a time of 1:50.76.
Trey Geter ran a time of 21.45 seconds and finished fourth in the 200m.

Kennesaw State will send athletes to a pair of meets next week, including the Raleigh Relays (March 26-27 at NC State) and host the Don McGarey Invitational (March 27-28 at the Kennesaw State Track and Field facility).
