KENNESAW, Ga. — Kennesaw State men's tennis fell to Troy in a 4-2 decision at Betty Siegel Courts on Saturday afternoon.
"Troy played a great match today," said KSU associate head coach
Simon Pritchard. "We were a couple of points away from turning it at the end, but couldn't quite pull it off. We are a young team, so matches like this are very valuable to experience and learn from. The guys are ready to get straight back to work against Georgia State tomorrow."
The Trojans took the doubles point with wins on courts one (6-2) and two (6-4).
Kyvan Rietkerk and
Anthony Weingarten won their doubles match 6-3 over Troy's Hiiro Sakamoto and Yeray Andres Pastor.
Ben Hudson and
Nathan Walters both won straight-set singles matches for KSU's two points of the day. Hudson defeated Luciano Alcocer 7-6 (7-5) and 6-2 on court one, while Walters overcame Ryusei Miyazato 7-6 (7-5) and 6-3 on court five.
Leon Peranovic,
Dominic Ducariu and
Xavi Ferrer each fell in their respective singles matches.
