Kennesaw State men's tennis player Ben Hudson faces Gardner-Webb.

Hudson, Ferrer Earn Academic All-District Honors

GREENWOOD, Ind. — Kennesaw State men's tennis's Ben Hudson and Xavi Ferrer each garnered College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors, the organization announced on Tuesday.

Hudson joined the Owls in Fall 2025 after beginning his collegiate career at South Florida.

The junior from Dundee, Scotland, played 14 of 17 line-one singles matches for KSU, with a 5-9 record. Hudson's doubles teams went a combined 9-9 this season, including a 5-5 showing on court one with Dominic Ducariu.

In the classroom, Hudson is majoring in interdisciplinary studies.

Ferrer finished his 2026 season with a 14-5 singles record, including 1-0 on court four, 2-0 on five and 11-5 on six. Nine of Ferrer's 14 singles wins came in straight sets. Ferrer entered the Conference USA Championships with a league-leading 10-match singles win streak as well.

In doubles play, Ferrer posted an 8-7 record across three pairings, including 3-1 on court three with Anthony Weingarten and 4-3 on three with Hudson. A sophomore from Alicante, Spain, Ferrer is majoring in sport management at KSU.

Hudson and Ferrer's academic success came as they helped the Owls to a 15-win season in 2026, tied for the second-most in program history.
