Walters, Hudson and Ducariu Garner ITA Scholar-Athlete Honors

GILBERT, Ariz. — Kennesaw State men's tennis earned All-Academic Team status while Nathan Walters, Ben Hudson and Dominic Ducariu garnered Scholar-Athlete designations in the 2026 reveal of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA)'s annual academic awards on July 13.  

Collegiate tennis programs receive an ITA All-Academic Team award for achieving a minimum team GPA of 3.2 in the academic year. With a 2025-26 GPA of 3.53, KSU men's tennis collected its 13th team award, and first in consecutive seasons since 2017-2018.

Student-athletes qualify for an ITA Scholar-Athlete honor with a minimum academic year GPA of 3.5. Walters led the Owls' recipients with a 4.0 mark in the classroom.

KSU now has 44 all-time recipients of 86 ITA Scholar-Athlete honors, and its most in a season since 2020.

With a team-best 16-3 singles record, Walters finished the season as an All-Conference USA First Team Singles designee. The freshman from Cirona, Spain won 10 of 16 singles matches in straight sets and was named CUSA Men's Athlete of the Week on March 25.

Hudson joined the Owls in Fall 2025 after beginning his collegiate career at South Florida. The junior from Dundee, Scotland, went on to play 14 matches on line one, go 9-9 in doubles play and earn College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District.

Ducariu's true freshman season featured an 11-6 singles record, including 10-2 on court four. The Frankfurt, Germany native went 9-8 in doubles play and 5-5 in court-one matches.

A fourth 2025-26 Owl, breakout freshman Leon Peranovic, also garnered a Scholar-Athlete honor. Peranovic transferred to BYU following the season.
