Huntsville, Texas – Blistering offense propelled Kennesaw State (16-19, 7-5 CUSA) to complete its first series sweep taking down Sam Houston (8-28, 2-10 CUSA) 17-6 Sunday afternoon in eight innings. The Owls tied the Division-I single-game home run record hitting five big flies, tying the record set versus Belmont April 1, 2010.
The Owls uncorked three home runs in the same inning (sixth) marking the second time in DI program history the feat has been accomplished. The previous occurrence was April 11, 2011, when Ronnie Freeman, Andy Chriscaden and Peyton Hart hit three consecutive homers to begin the game. In the sixth frame, the Black and Gold garnered 12 runs, a new season-high. The previous 12-run inning for KSU came April 19, 2023, when they posted 12 runs in the first stanza versus Georgia Southern in the 13-9 victory.

Nate Anderson then blasted a home run over the right field fence signifying his first grand slam of the year and jumping KSU to a 10-1 advantage.
The ninth run of the inning was scored via error as Suto reached safely from a fielder's choice at first base. As the throw was hurling toward first, it skipped past the first baseman's glove and rolled into foul territory, allowing Williams to score from third base making it an 11-1 lead.
