LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Kennesaw State (24-18, 14-7 Atlantic Sun Conference) fell 10-4 in its series finale with Bellarmine (7-36, 6-15 ASUN) Sunday afternoon at Knights Field.
Right fielder
Jackson Chirello had two hits, capping off a seven-hit series with six RBI and five runs scored.
KSU claimed the series Saturday afternoon in a 21-1 victory, earning its sixth ASUN series win in seven tries this season.
Chris Cole slammed a double to left field and was brought home by Chirello's single up the middle giving KSU an early 1-0 advantage in the first.
Nick Hassan improved his reached-base streak to seven games with a walk in the inning. Bellarmine led 5-1 after three.
Brayden Eidson doubled in the sixth inning on a 3-2 pitch to score
Shamaar McDuffie from first and cut into the deficit, 5-2. The Knights increased their lead to 7-2 in the bottom of the sixth.
With two outs and
Isaac Bouton on second in the seventh,
Zac Corbin blasted a triple to right. He scored on a wild pitch during
Aaron Posey's at-bat to get KSU within three, 7-4. BU added three in the seventh and held on in the final two innings to win, 10-4.
