A LOOK AT THE MATCHUP …
The Kennesaw State women's basketball program heads south to Jacksonville, Florida to take on the North Florida and Jacksonville in a pair of Atlantic Sun Conference tilts over the weekend, continuing its 2015-16 conference slate. Both games will be broadcasted on ESPN3 as tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively, on Saturday and Monday night.

SCOUTING NORTH FLORIDA...
- Head coach Darrick Gibbs was named the Osprey's coach in April of 2015.
- North Florida enters the weekend with a 4-12 overall record and a 0-1 mark in the Atlantic Sun Conference.
- Claire Ioannidis is leading the team in scoring, averaging 14.7 points per game and is shooting 38 percent from the field.
- Sierra Shepherd has added 12.6 points per game to create a solid one-two punch, as the two combine for 27.3 points a game, which is close to 50 percent of the Osprey's scoring.
- Kadesia Johnson is leading the team in rebounding, pulling down 7.9 boards per game and has totaled 41 offensive rebounds – which leads the team.
- As a team, North Florida is scoring 54.8 points per game, pulling down 35 rebounds per game and dishing out 10.7 assists per contest.
 
SCOUTING JACKSONVILLE...
- Jacksonville was founded in 1934 in Jacksonville, Florida and currently has an enrollment of 3,936 students.
- Jacksonville's nickname is the Dolphins and compete at the Swisher Gymnasium (1,500) and its colors are Green and Gold.
- Head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin is currently in her third season at the program, and holds a 34-44 overall record entering the weekend.
- McPhee-McCuin is assisted by Camille Collier, Darnell Haney and Ed Mahan.
- The Dolphins' first season of basketball was the 1999-00 season and holds a 179-266 (.401) all-time record in 16 seasons.
- Jacksonville's record was 12-17 overall and 6-8 in the A-Sun a season ago, and will return five letterwinners and two starters.
- Sherranda Reddick entered the weekend leading the team with 12.3 points per game, just ahead of Briona Brown's 12.2.
- In all, four Dolphin players are averaging double-figure numbers in the scoring column, with Kayla Gordon (10.8) and Christin Mercer (10.6) adding to Reddick's and Brown's numbers.
- As a team, JU is averaging 65.8 points per game, 40.3 rebounds per game and 12.3 assists per game.
 
A WIN WOULD…
- Give the Owls their seventh win of the season and second A-Sun victory of the season.
- Improve KSU's win streak to two games, coming off a 55-54 victory over Lipscomb last Saturday.
- Kennesaw State's its first win on the road this season.
 
DOUBLE-DOUBLE MACHINE…
- Jasmine McAllister notched her seventh double-double of the season against Thomas University on Dec. 29.
- Four of her seven double-doubles this season have been on KSU's home floor – Presbyterian, Western Carolina, New Orleans and Thomas.
- The senior totaled 13 points and 15 rebounds against the Musketeers and then totaled 14 points and 13 boards against Thomas.
- Her 15 rebounds against Xavier notched her fifth game of pulling down 15 rebounds – four shy of her career high.
- Over her last four games, McAllister is averaging 11.3 points per game and 12.8 boards per game.
- She currently leads the team averaging 10.1 points and 9.9 rebounds per game.
 
AAERON SMITH'S HITTING FROM ALL CYLNDERS…
- Aareon Smith was tabbed Atlantic Sun Conference Co-Player of the Week (Jan. 11) after a 23-point outburst against Lipscomb.
- Smith hit the game-winning free throw that proved to be the difference against the Bisons Saturday, helping her earn the honor.
- The 23-point performance marked her third game she reached the 20-point plateau in 2015-16.
- Smith tallied a five-game streak of reaching double-figures from Dec. 12-2, averaging 15.0 points per game during that span.
- Overall, Smith is shooting 35 percent from beyond the arc and is second on the team with 29 made 3-pointers this season.
 
DULKOSKI HOT SHOOTING!…
-Kelly Dulkoski made a career-high six 3-pointers in a single game against Presbyterian on Monday
(Nov. 16) night.
- Dulkoski made six of the Owls seven 3-pointers made in the game, making three in each half against the Blue Hose.
- Dulkoski poured in her second game in which she made six 3-pointers at the KSU Convocation Center against Mercer (Dec. 5), tallying a new career-high 20 points.
- In fact, the redshirt sophomore is shooting over 40 percent from deep on the Owls' home floor, making 23-of-53 (43.4 percent) from beyond the arc.
- Dulkoski is averaging 15.3 points per game over her last four games on 45 percent shooting from the field.
- The shooting guard is shooting 13-for-31 from beyond the arc over her last four games, including a 20 point and 14 point effort over her last two road games against Morehead State and Xavier, respectively.
- Has reached double-figure scoring in seven games, including two 20-point performances (Mercer & Morehead State)
- Averaged 14.1 points per game (led the team) in seven games in the month of December, which led the team. She also shot 42.9 percent from beyond the arc in the month of December, also leading the team.
 
TEAM FACTS…
-The Owls 60-53 win against New Orleans on Nov. 29 marked the 70th win all-time at the KSU
Convocation Center.
- With its victory last Saturday against Lipscomb, the Owls have now won 70 Atlantic Sun Conference games since joining the league in 2005.
- The Owls won their first game when trailing at halftime against Lipscomb last Saturday.
- KSU earned its second win Saturday when Lipscomb had a better shooting percentage, but the Owls made more 3-pointers in the contest.
- The Owls have made more free throws than their opponents in 11 of their 16 games and is shooting 68 percent from the charity stripe.
- Kennesaw State is nine wins away from reaching 350 wins in the NCAA (335-281 entering the season) all-time.
- Deandrea Sawyers has made 121 3-pointers over her first two seasons with the Owls. The most made 3-pointers in a season was 78 by Taylor Mills in 2011-12, which Sawyers fell just 15 shy of breaking that record.
- Jasmine McAllister also recorded 317 rebounds a season ago, which fell seven shy of the single season record of 324 by Sametria Gideon in 2012-13.
- McAllister has pulled down 158 through 14 games this season, averaging 9.9 boards per game.
- Deandre Sawyers is 101 points (7.2 points per game needed for the remainder of the season) away from reaching the
1,000 point plateau in 2015-16. She would be only the third player to accomplish the milestone since the Owls turned Division I in 2005-06.
- KSU welcomed back seven letterwinners from a season ago and has seven newcomers that make up the 2015-16 roster.
- Kennesaw State has had SIX players (Aareon Smith, Iceis Walker, Tayler Smith, Allison Johnson, Kelly Dulkoski & Clara Young) record career highs this season.
- Clara Young also recorded a career-high eight assists on the road against Xavier on Dec. 21, 2015.
