GREENWOOD, Ind. — Kennesaw State women's basketball's Kailyn Fields and Kaelyn Flowers each earned a spot on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Women's Basketball Academic All-District Team, the organization announced on Tuesday.

The annual award recognizes student-athlete success on the court and in the classroom.

Fields and Flowers become the program's third and fourth athletes to receive the honor in KSU's Division I era (2005-pres.). Amani Johnson was a two-time academic all-district recipient (2021-22, 2022-23), while Gabi Legister received the honor in 2022-23 as well.

Flowers' academic achievements include maintaining a cumulative 4.0 GPA while starting 24 of 26 games played this season for the Owls.

The sophomore guard from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, averaged 6.3 points per game, shot 38% from the field and 77% from the free throw line in 2025-26. Flowers finished the season as the team's second leader in assists and steals with 59 and 49, respectively. Flowers is majoring in sport management at KSU.

Fields holds a 3.55 GPA and majors in psychology. The Atlanta native enjoyed a career-best season at point guard for the Owls despite missing 10 games with injury.

Fields averaged 6.8 points per game while leading the team in assists (87), assists average (4.4) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.3). Fields also finished the season as the Owls' second leader in 3-point percentage (35.4) and steals average (2).

Conference USA features Fields throughout its statistical standings, with the KSU guard ranking third in the league in assists per game, fifth in assist-to-turnover ratio, and eighth in total assists.

Fields is joined by Fanta Kone of Sam Houston as one of only two players during the 2025-26 season to rank in the top 10 in CUSA in both assists and steals average. The Owl and Bearkat are also the league's only players to record multiple games of nine or more assists this season.

Fields finishes her junior campaign at KSU tied with Johnson (2018-19) and Karly Frye (2015-16) for fourth in program history in single-season assists average. Fields' career tally of 213 assists also ranks sixth at KSU in the DI era.
