KENNESAW, Ga. –
The Kennesaw State women's lacrosse team won its second game in a row defeating the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs 15-8 on Tuesday, March 17.

Sydney Farwick paced the Owls with five goals and one assist. She also picked up five ground balls and won four draw controls.

"We're very confident in Sydney's ability, and we're confident that she will continue to develop as a player," head coach Kristina Llanes said. "She's becoming more dimensional as a shooter and working harder off the ball.

Freshman Connor Zophy also had six points on the afternoon dishing out five assists and scoring one goal.

In the first half, the Owls raced out to 5-0 lead in the first 13 minutes. The Runnin' Bulldogs cut the lead to 5-3, but KSU responded by scoring the next three goals to push the margin back to five.

Gardner-Webb scored to make it 8-4, but Taylor McGhee answered to get the Owls back on track and the team didn't look back from there.

Kennesaw State led Gardner-Webb in ground balls (32-22) and draw controls (14-11).

Atlantic Sun Defensive Player of the Week Allison Senft continued her strong play making 11 saves in the game and going 5-5 on clears.

"Alli has been very calm for us in the cage, and that has been a big emphasis for us to have a sense of urgency but to not be frantic," Llanes said. "She's really been focused on that and on her clears. We were 100 percent on that today, so that was very exciting for her."

Victoria Stairs led the team picking up six ground balls and also scored her first collegiate goal.

With the win, KSU moves to 3-6 on the season and 3-1 in Fifth Third Bank Stadium. The Owls will be back on the field this Sunday, March 22 at 1 p.m. against Coastal Carolina. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN3.
