KENNESAW, Ga. – On a rainy Sunday afternoon, the Kennesaw State women's lacrosse team had their two game win streak snapped against the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers.
"Coastal is consistently a tough opponent for us to face," head coach
Kristina Llanes said. "They apply a lot of pressure on our ball handlers, and we weren't as prepared for it as we needed to be today."
Lucy Mills scored all three goals for the Owls in the 18-3 defeat.
"Lucy is coming off of an injury, and she showed up big today in our game," Llanes said. "She had poise under pressure and she was able to make adjustments to her shooting in regards to what the goalkeeper was doing, so we were impressed with her lacrosse IQ today."
All of the scoring for the Owls came in the first half. Two of Mills goals came on free-position attempts.
Victoria Stairs led the team picking up four ground balls and won three draw controls.
Goalkeeper
Elaine Bradley came off the bench and came up with six saves in a little over 48 minutes.
With the loss to Coastal Carolina, the Owls fall to 3-7 on the season. They will now begin Atlantic Sun Conference play this Wednesday, March 25 at Furman at 6 p.m.
