DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Kennesaw State women's lacrosse team lost to the Davidson Wildcats on Sunday, February 15.
"Today we went in focused on making adjustments on the draw," head coach
Kristina Llanes said. "I felt we executed in this area. Connor (Zophy) and Haley (O'Donoghue came up with strong opportunities, but our offense fell short in our decisions in attacking transitions."
"Alli Senft was strong in the cage for us and continued to get in the way on a lot of their shots,"Llanes added. "The message to our team continues to be about progress and preparing everyday to be better."
Taylor McGhee once again led the Owls on the offensive end with two goals to give her six on the season.
Freshman
Connor Zophy scored her first career goal against the Wildcats in the second half. She also finished with four draw controls on the afternoon.
Sydney Farwick led the team with six draw controls, and her and Zophy's ten draw controls combined matched the number of Davidson draw controls. As a team, KSU won the draw control battle 16-10.
The Owls also caused more turnovers winning that battle 9-6. A trio of freshman each had two caused turnovers.
Allie Wright had the fourth goal for the Owls and her second of the season.
Allison Senft made seven saves in the game.
Kennesaw State moves to 0-4 on the season as Davidson topped them by a final score of 21-4.
The Owls will play at home next Sunday, February 22 against Delaware State at 1 p.m. in their next game.
