Kennesaw, Ga. – The Kennesaw State women's soccer team dropped its Sunday afternoon game to the Jacksonville Dolphins 1-0 in Fifth Third Bank Stadium.

The Owls controlled the play early in the first half creating several chances with the best one coming four minutes in when Khatra Mahdi had a shot on net that was saved and Maggie Gaughan tried to slot home the rebound, but hit it just high.

KSU had 10 shots in the opening frame with two of those being on net.

Later in the first half, Jacksonville gained possession and put some pressure on the Owls with five corner kicks, but couldn't put anything on frame.

Three minutes into the second half, the Dolphins cashed in to take a 1-0 lead. The final 20 minutes KSU put the pressure on, but couldn't get one to in the net.

The Owls have one more Atlantic Sun game against USC Upstate next Sunday, October 25 at 3 p.m.

Quotables
"We applied a lot of pressure and got some good looks, in particular early on in the game in the first half. Unfortunately, we did not capitalize on any of the chances we had and at this level you have to when opportunities are given. Jacksonville hung around and took advantage of a defensive breakdown.

"Going on the road to USC Upstate will be a battle. You look at the standings and you figure the winner gets into the tournament. It will be a battle and I hope we are ready for the challenge," Rob King said.

Notes
- After scoring both goals on Friday, Kim Fincher had a good chance early in the game, but the Dolphins goalkeeper made a good save denying her a third goal on the weekend.
- The Owls outshot JU 17-6  in the game and forced Sara Wicks to make five saves for the Dolphins.
- With the loss, KSU's all-time record against Jacksonville falls to 9-7.
