KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State men and women's track and field teams began preparing for another championship run as they had their first practice of the 2014-15 season on Saturday, October 11.
"Our men and women have been working very hard during the strength and conditioning portion of our pre-season training and are hungry to get into more technical work," said Director of Track and Field
Andy Eggerth. "In addition to our team being more athletic, I think we have the best team culture that we've ever had, so I'm really looking forward to an outstanding year for the women and the men!"
Coming into the season, the men have won three straight A-Sun Conference Indoor titles and were ranked as high 18
th in the nation a year ago. The women's team is still working hard to earn their first championship
"We recently conducted a battery of power tests to get a baseline of where we are at," Eggerth said. "Our athletes blew away the previous records. We have a scoring chart for each test and a combined score of all 5 tests. Four years ago, we only had 4 athletes score at or just above 300 points on this testing. Two weeks ago, we had 15 athletes score over 300 points and four score over 400 points. This is a great indicator of how much our team has continually gotten stronger."
Last season, both teams combined to have 42 first team All-Sun individuals and will look to improve on that this year.
