DALLAS – Gage Voyles and
Natalie Harris earned CUSA Track and Field Freshmen of the Week awards, the league announced Tuesday.
Voyles was named Conference USA Men's Freshman of the Week. Voyles won the high jump at the Georgia Tech Invitational with a personal-best clearance of 2.21m (7'3"). That mark set a new school record in the event. That mark ranks No. 1 in CUSA, No. 2 in NCAA East Region and No. 4 in the NCAA this season.
Harris earned Conference USA Women's Freshman Athlete of the Week honors for her performances in the 100m hurdles and 4x100m relay. Harris finished third in the 100m hurdles with a personal best time of 13.46 seconds. That time ranks No. 1 in CUSA and No. 40 in the NCAA East Region. It ranks eighth in KSU history. She ran the opening leg on the Owls 4x100m relay team that won in a time of 45.04 seconds.
Harris and Voyles will return to action on May 2 at the Torrin Lawrence Memorial in Athens, Ga.
