ATLANTA, Ga. — Kennesaw State track and field secured five event wins and set two school records on Day 2 of the Georgia Tech Invitational on Saturday at George C. Griffin Track Facility.
Men's Recap
Gage Voyles won the high jump with a personal-best height of 2.21 meters (7'3"). The mark set a school record and ranks second in the NCAA East Region and third in the NCAA this season. Kenyatta Bennett moved to second in the Conference USA rankings after clearing 2.15 meters (7'0.5") to place third.
Chinedum Ike recorded a leap of 15.43m (50'7.5) to secure a victory in the triple jump. The mark ranks second in CUSA this season. Freshman Cameron Dean placed third with a leap of 15.07m (49'5.5").
The men's 4x100-meter relay team of Mohamed Diaby, Pishon Haughton, Eric Young II and Chance Cross finished second in 40.09 seconds.
Josh Jones ran 51.39 seconds to place third in the 400-meter hurdles, setting a new school record in the event. Freshman Marion Clark finished fifth in 51.79 seconds.
Rickey Robbins (51.98m | 170'6") and Joao Dalandrea (51.12m | 167'8") placed second and third in the discus.
Edwin Kiprono finished sixth in the 800 meters in 1:51.13.
Eric Young II placed ninth in the 200 meters in 21.16 seconds.
Women's Recap
Freshman Ta'Tyana Anaderson won the high jump with a leap of 1.67m (5'5.75").
The 4x100-meter relay team of Natalie Harris, Ebony Whyte, Samiya Wayne and Kenadie Singleton won the event in 45.04 seconds.
Senior Emma Sullivan won the 400 meters in 53.17 seconds.
Riley Perlakowski finished second in the 800 meters in 2:07.59.
Victoria Joyce (12.32m | 40'5") and Jermiya Winston (12.13m | 39'9.75") placed third and seventh in the triple jump.
Kenadie Singleton (23.79 seconds) and Ebony Whyte (24.08 seconds) placed fourth and ninth in the 200 meters.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Eliana Mbadinga, Aminah Jabbie, Emma Sullivan and Riley Perlakowski finished sixth with a time of 3:43.11.
