MIAMI – Kennesaw State softball dropped game one of its series against FIU, 7-2, in Miami.
Macie Howes was responsible for the Owls' two runs, hitting her ninth homer of the season.
How It Happened
After three scoreless innings, the Panthers got on the board in the bottom of fourth. An error and back-to-back hits loaded the bases for Paige Miller. The junior singled to bring home two. FIU scored another run to make it 3-0.
Ana Gore broke up the perfect game in the top of the fifth with a leadoff single. The Owls had runners on second and third but couldn't score.
The Black and Gold would score in the following inning.
Hannah Harvey reached base to set up Howes. The Louisville native ripped it over the left field wall for a two-run blast.
FIU responded in the bottom of the sixth with four runs.
