NEWARK, Del. – For the first time in program history, Kennesaw State softball duked out it against Delaware, falling 8-0 in the 302.
Savannah Frachiseur extended her hitting streak to six games and
Hannah Harvey tallied a hit to give her six in the last four games.
How It Happened
After a scoreless three innings, the Blue Hens got on the board. The first run scored via a sacrifice fly. With two runners on, Maddie Diamond worked a 12-pitch at-bat before going yard for a three-run homer.
Two runs crossed home to make it 6-0 in the fifth. The Owls looked to have gotten out of the inning with a double play, but after a review, the initial batter was ruled safe at first. UD took advantage of the overturned call and scored two more runs to enforce the run rule.
Notes from the Diamond
- Savannah Frachiseur extends her hitting streak to six games, the longest active streak by an Owl. Her batting average has increased 57 points during this stretch.
- Hannah Harvey tallied a hit to give her six in the last four games. She's batting .360 in the month of April.
- Despite missing 12 games, Ava Guzowski picked up her team-best 15th walk tonight.
