KENNESAW, Ga. – Jax State jumped out to an early lead and maintained control as Kennesaw State softball fell, 6-2, in the series opener.
Hannah Harvey was responsible for both runs as she had two sac flies. Six different Owls tallied a hit tonight.
How It Happened
Jax State got on the board early in the first inning, capitalizing on a bases-loaded situation. With two outs, it scored three runs.
The third inning saw the Owls create momentum as Ava Brooke Strickland reached on an error and moved into scoring position. Harvey delivered her first sacrifice fly to center field to bring Strickland home.
Jax State responded in the fourth inning with a rally, starting with a single up the middle to drive in a run. A double to left field brought in two more runs.
KSU got one in the seventh inning. Like the third, Danielle Bailey reached base on an error and moved into scoring position. Harvey hit a deep fly ball out to right field and was able to bring home the second baseman.
