KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State softball lost to Sam Houston, 15-2, in the Sunday series finale at Bailey Park.
Ana Gore was responsible for both RBI in today's contest, going 5-for-10 with four extra-base hits and six RBI on the weekend.
How It Happened
After Sam Houston took the early 1-0 lead in the first, KSU had a chance to tie the contest in the bottom half of the frame.
Alora Bevily led off the inning with a single and moved into scoring position. Gore rocketed a ball off the second baseman and Bevily tried manufacturing a run but was thrown out at the plate.
Over the next three innings, the Bearkats jumped on the Owls for 14 runs with eight coming via the long ball.
The Owls didn't go down without a fight as they scored in the bottom of the fifth. After
Macie Howes and Bevily got on, Gore ripped an opposite field double to bring home both runners. The two-bagger did result in a Sam Houston pitching change but the final score remained 15-2.
