SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Kennesaw State softball fell 8-0 in its series opener to new CUSA member, Missouri State, at Killian Stadium.

Macie Howes and Alora Bevily extended their on-base streaks to eight as each recorded a hit.

Ana Gore also tallied a hit tonight, continuing her hot start in conference play.

How It Happened
Missouri State opened the game with a score in the bottom of the first inning. After the leadoff hitter Brynn Romine doubled, back-to-back fly outs brought her home.

Gore and Jojo Johnson began the following frame with hits to put themselves in scoring position with no outs. The Bears got out of the second-inning jam with no runs allowed.

A similar fate followed suit in the top of third with Howes and Bevily on base. A punchout ended the inning scoreless for the Owls.

Seven runs in the fourth and fifth innings put the Bears up 8-0 and enforced the run rule. The contest ended on an Alexis Perales sacrifice fly.
