Kennesaw, GA – The Kennesaw State Owls (9-20, 0-6 CUSA) struggled to find their rhythm at the plate as the FIU Panthers (22-8, 5-1 CUSA) delivered a shutout game. This marked the first time the Owls have been no-hit by an opponent since February 25, 2024, against UNCG.
How It Happened
The first two innings remained even with both teams unable to convert their early opportunities into runs.
The Panthers broke open the scoreboard in the top of the third inning, scoring five runs, including a grand slam, to take a commanding 5-0 lead. Despite the Owls' efforts with four players reaching base, they couldn't close the gap.
FIU added two more runs in the fifth inning, extending their lead to 7-0. The Owls' defense held firm in the later innings, but their offense couldn't break through, resulting in a shutout loss.
