KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State soccer picked up its first Conference USA win of the season, defeating Jax State, 2-1, on Senior Day.

Mackenzie Anuska scored her first career goal on the 77th-minute game winner and Raelyn Prince tallied her third goal of the season. All four players who recorded a point were seniors with Rebecca Womer and Brenna Young assisting on the two goals.

Coach Chris Cahill's Remarks:
"It was great to see the squad come together tonight and play with thought, energy, and determination, Cahill said. "They did not want to be denied and worked hard to send the seniors out on top and set the tone for the last game of the season."

First Half
The first 45 minutes was a defensive affair. Jax State recorded a shot and a corner in the first five minutes.  For the next 25 minutes, neither team generated an offensive look.

KSU received a corner in 32nd minute. Prince's shot was corralled by the Gamecocks' goalkeeper.

Both teams traded chances until Jax State broke through in the 42nd minute. Kaia Elverum's shot inside the box was blocked. Lea Montiero got a touch on the ball and dumped it off to Lara Aitken for the goal.

Second Half
The scoring opened up in the final frame as the Owls netted both of their goals.

Prince scored the equalizer in 50th minute. A Gamecock gave away the ball just outside their box. The Titusville, Fla, native dribbled past the final defender and blasted it towards the far-side post for the goal.

The Owls kept generating chances. Four shots and two corners shortly followed the equalizer.

The chances eventually turned into a score. Womer won the ball in the offensive third and sent to Ansuka on the right flank. Anuska – seeing an opportunity – ripped it towards the goal and sent it just over the arms of the goalkeeper.

Jax State almost scored a late goal. Symone Dorsey had a look from the wing but Charlee Bernal made the key save to seal the game.
