STATESBORO, Ga. – After a razor thin first half, Kennesaw State couldn't hold down Georgia Southern in the second half, falling 2-0 Thursday night in Statesboro, Ga.
First Half
There wasn't much to write home about for either side in the first half. Neither team was able to create separation to launch threatening look on goal. However, Ga. Southern held the 45-minute lead in shots with 12 compared to the three for the Owls.
The Black and Gold recorded one shot on goal with the Eagles manufacturing just three.
A notable bright spot was the season debut of former ASUN All-Freshman team member,
Anabel Orozco. Due to injury, she didn't appear in a single contest until she checked in halfway through the half.
Second Half
15 minutes in, Georgia Southern was able to scratch across the first goal of the game. The goal came off a scramble in the box, leaving KSU open on defense.
Four minutes later, they were able to score again on a similar play, but this one conceded from a corner kick.
