KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State (2-8) couldn't secure the win versus ETSU (2-8) falling 8-6 at Bailey Park to conclude the Kennesaw State Tournament Sunday afternoon.
The Owls have remained competitive losing back-to-back nine inning games by a combined three runs.
ETSU started quickly with the bats scoring two runs in the first inning and three in the fourth.
The Black and Gold were able to answer the bell in the fourth and fifth inning bringing the five-run lead for the Buccaneers to just one.
Ty Hardeman chipped into the lead with an RBI single scoring
Kassidy Amerson-Fox. Fox then took power into her own hands with a three-run shot to left field, her second of the tournament.
With the game on the line,
Macie Howes extended the Owls' hopes tying it at five all with a single to left center scoring
Madison Miller. The game would go to nine innings and favor ETSU 9-6.
Spotlight Performances
The Owls offense showed up big yet again tallying 13 hits, the most in any single game this year.
Amerson-Fox was unstoppable at the plate, going four-for-four with a homer, three RBIs, two runs and a stolen base. She is now hitting .379 on the season.
Miller finished two-for-five, two runs scored, three stolen bases and an astounding diving catch in the sixth inning.
