KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State battled late into the night Saturday but couldn't hold off the Ole Miss Rebels (8-1) and the Pitt Panthers (5-3) in day two of the Kennesaw State Tournament.
Game One Vs. Ole Miss (L, 14-5)
After a 3-run Rebel first inning, a double from Guzowski in the first inning brought the score within two, scoring Stella Henry. A two-run homer from Amerson-Fox to dead center tied the game 3-3 going into the fifth.
In the bottom of the 5th, a hit from Kiera Cooper down the third base line brought Guzowski home. It was then followed by a hit from Macie Howes to bring Cooper home bringing the Owls within six. Ole Miss ended the game via run rule 14-5.
Spotlight Performances
Amerson-Fox, Guzowski and Cooper all ended the game with two hit games with all three earning an extra base hit.
Game Two V. Pitt (L, 4-3) 9 Inn.
Kiera Cooper got the Owls on the board early with a double down the third base line in the first inning, scoring Stella Henry.
The Owls were able to answer the three run second inning of Pitt with a Madison Miller hit through the right side bringing Ty Hardeman home. The Owls were within one at the bottom of the fifth.
Caroline Shumeyko hit her second homer of the year to deep left in the bottom of the sixth tying the game 3-3.
Owls drop the game in the ninth inning finishing 4-3.
Spotlight Performances
Shumeyko continues to show off her power streak hitting her second home run and boosting her SLUG% to a team best .667. along with a .959 OPS.

KSU will face ETSU at 1 p.m. Sunday afternoon to close out the Kenesaw State Tournament.
