KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State baseball 23-27 (12-15 ASUN Conference) lost 12-5 in the series finale vs. North Alabama (12-36, 6-21 ASUN) Sunday inside Stillwell Stadium.
Prior to first pitch, the Owls honored the 2023 senior class: Nick Colina, Mason Jones, Luke Cooper and Nick Zegna.
Colina, Donovan Cash and Makenzie Stills had a multi-hit game as they all finished the game with two hits each.
The Lions opened the game scoring two runs to take an early lead.
On a fielding error by North Alabama while Stills was at bat in the second inning, Jamarie Brooks was able to slide into home base, cutting the deficit in half.
The Lions scored a total of two runs in the fourth and fifth innings to go up 4-1.
While at the plate, Colina was able to bring home both Stills and Jones, bringing the Owls to a one-run difference in the fifth inning.
In the sixth and eighth innings, North Alabama extended their lead, 11-3.
On a sacrifice fly by Brooks in the bottom of the eighth, Cash scored to cut the Lions lead 11-4. Next at bat, Jones grounded out for Jackson Chirello to make it 11-5.
The Lions scored one more run in the ninth inning to end the game at 12-5.
The Owls will be on the road for their next game as they travel to Tallahassee, Fla. to play the Florida State Seminoles. The game is set to start at 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 16 at Dick Howser Stadium and will broadcasted live on ACC Network Extra.
