KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State softball (12-26, 4-8 ASUN Conference) concluded a three-game conference series against the North Alabama Lions (24-9, 6-6 ASUN) Friday inside Bailey Park.
The Owls fell 11-0 in a five-inning game one and 1-0 in the series finale.
Freshman
Stella Henry shined at the plate for KSU with a 3-for-6 afternoon between the two games. She leads the team with 15 hits in ASUN play thus far in 2023.
GAME ONE (L, 0-11 – Five innings)
The Lions scored in each of the first two frames to jump out to a 3-0 advantage.
Senior
Brinaya Bailey's hit in the third inning marked her 28th of the year – second-most on the team.
UNA added more runs in the fourth and fifth to go up 11-0, the eventual run-rule final score.
GAME TWO (L, 0-1)
Freshman
Evan Fuller made her first career start in the series finale at right field for the Owls.
The defenses delivered masterful performances with the two squads managing only three hits between them in the first 4.5 innings.
Stacey Deputy broke the UNA no-hit bid in the bottom of the fifth with a hot shot to center.
North Alabama scored in the sixth to take a 1-0 lead.
Cates' reached-base streak extended to eight games with an infield single in the bottom of the frame.
KSU's rally attempt came up short in the seventh to seal the victory for UNA.

Kennesaw State hits the road for a three-game series against the Jacksonville Dolphins beginning Friday, Apr. 14 at 7:00 p.m.
