JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Kennesaw State softball (12-27, 4-9 ASUN Conference) fell 5-2 in game one of three to the Jacksonville Dolphins (19-21, 5-8 ASUN) Friday at the Debbie and Fred Pruitt Softball Complex.
Starter
Melanie Bennett (6-9) struck out nine in 6.0 innings pitched in the circle for the Owls.
After three scoreless frames,
Stacey Deputy broke through for the Owls with an RBI single to score
Taylor Cates.
In the next at-bat,
Kiera Cooper grounded out to score
Mary Greg Anderson and give the Owls a 2-0 advantage.
Jacksonville added three in the fourth and two more in the sixth to win 5-2.

Kennesaw State and Jacksonville are set for game two Saturday, Apr. 15 at 3:00 p.m.
