Clemson chipped back with two runs in the second to cut the deficit to one. Blake Wright led off the frame with a solo shot before a passed ball plated the second Tiger run.
KSU added two more runs in the third courtesy of a two-run homer from Hanson. Brayden Eidson led off the frame with a hit-by-pitch and advanced to second on a stolen base. After battling off a few tough pitches, Hanson launched a fastball off the batter's eye in centerfield to put the Owls ahead, 5-2.
In the ensuing frame, Clemson belted a two-run homer to pull the score back within one. Jacob Jarrell connected for his fourth long ball of the year.
The Tigers added three runs in the fourth to take their first lead of the night.
