BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Kennesaw track and field teams opened competition at the Doc Hale Virginia Tech Meet and the Bruce LeHane Scarlet and White Invitational (Boston, Mass.). Two Owls competed in the pentathlon at the VMI Winter Relays (Lexington, Va.) on Friday.

Event Winner
- Isaiah Rogers landed a toss of 23.40m (76'9.5") to win the weight throw at the Doc Hale Virginia Tech Meet.
- Kaelen Mitchell won the long jump with a personal-best leap of 7.52m (24'8.25").
Pentathlon (Completed)
- Kyarra Newton finished second scoring a personal-best 3588 points.
- Newton collected wins in the high jump clearing 1.72m (5'7.75") and the shot put with a throw of 11.23m (36'11.75").
- Cadence Huntsinger took home 13th scoring 2703 points.
Men's Top Performances at Doc Hale Virginia Tech Meet
- Koi Williams ran a time of 1:53.88 to take sixth in the 800m.
- Makai Williams ran a personal-best time of 8.39 seconds in the 60m hurdles.
- Chance Cross (6.76 seconds), Malik Hussie (6.81 seconds) and Xavier Paris (6.83 seconds) reached the finals of the 60m dash. Cross's times ranks fourth in program history.
- Paris (6.835 seconds), Hussie (6.84 seconds) and Cross (6.91 seconds) took home fifth, sixth and seventh in the 60m final.
- Grant Crabtree posted a time of 8:35.68 to finish third among collegiates in the 3k.
- Tyriq Hussie posted a time of 48.81 seconds to secure third in the 400m.
- Anthony Harrison landed a personal-best toss of 21.27m (69'9.5") to finish third in the weight throw. He was joined in the top five by Zachary Peterson who had a personal-best throw of 19.33m (63'5").
Women's Top Performances at Doc Hale Virginia Tech Meet
- Madigan Wallace ran a time of 2:13.32 to finish fifth in the 800m.
- Olivia Brown (8.51 seconds) and Corbin McLean (8.57 seconds) qualified for the 60m hurdles final.
- McLean took home fifth in a personal-best time of 8.43 seconds while Brown crossed the line in 8.67 seconds to finish eighth.
- Rachel Ruff cleared 3.70m (12'1.5) to tie for sixth in the unseeded pole vault.
- Taylor Moreland landed a leap of 5.72m (18'9.25") to finish ninth in the long jump.
- Kali Terza finished sixth in the weight throw with a toss of 18.19m (59'8.25").
The Owls will finish action at the Doc Hale Virginia Tech Meet and Bruce LeHane Scarlet and White Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 4.
