KSU's new DC Nathan Burton previously spent time as Georgia Tech's co-defensive coordinator and as a secondaries coach for the USFL's New Orleans Breakers.
- Kennesaw State football is 8-0 all-time on Homecoming games. The Owls defeated Tennessee Tech last season in overtime, 33-30, to extend their Homecoming win-streak. KSU and Tennessee State have never met before in series history heading into this Saturday's matchup.
- Gabriel Benyard and Jonathan Murphy find themselves within the top 10 of two different FCS categories. Benyard is fifth in the FCS with four receiving touchdowns and Murphy ranks seventh in passing yards per completion (15.25).
- Against No. 7 Furman on Sept. 16, Jonathan Murphy set KSU individual single-game records for completions (17) and passing yards (308). Murphy became the only quarterback in school history to surpass the 300-yard passing mark in a single game.
- The Kennesaw State offense has scored a point in 97-straight games and has reached the double-digit mark in 74 of the last 75 contests.
- In its 97 games as a program, Kennesaw State football has been out-rushed eight times. Out of those eight, KSU has been out-rushed only twice inside Fifth Third Bank Stadium in 50 games.
