LEXINGTON, KY. – The Kennesaw State track and field teams opened the indoor portion of the 2023 schedule at the Rod McCravy Memorial with 16 other programs inside the Nutter Field House on Friday.
 
School Records

• Malik Hussie finished sixth in the 600m with a time of 1:20.28.
• Isaiah Rogers won the men's weight throw with a toss of 24.37m (79'11.5"). That mark shattered the previous school record by over 14 feet and ranks No. 1 in the NCAA this season.

 
 Event Wins

• Caroline Timm ran 1:34.20 to win the women's 600m.

 
 Men's Top Performances

• Juan Cavazos II was runner-up in the high jump after he cleared 2.00m (6'6.75").
• Tyriq Hussie (6.86) and Chance Cross (6.96) advanced to the semifinals of the 60m on Saturday.
• Makai Williams (8.44) and Jordan Frick (8.59) moved on to Saturday's 60m hurdle semifinal.
• Sparticus Griffin (1:20.42), Koi Williams (1:21.17), Cameron Paulk (1:21.80) and Cameron Johnson (1:22.05) took seventh, ninth, 10^th and 11^th in the 600m.
• Anthony Harrison was runner-up in the weight throw with a toss of 20.98m (68'10").

 
 Women's Top Performances

• Jania Joseph and Kaylee Brown each cleared 1.65m (5'5") taking home fourth and fifth in the high jump.
• Kalie Terza landed a toss of 17.36m (56'11.5") and Eriana Sanford added a throw of 17.18m (56'4.5") to finish fourth and fifth in the weight throw.
• Taylor Hampton posted a mark of 5.83m (19'1.5") and Tayla Moreland added a leap of 5.74m (18'10") to finish second and fourth in the long jump.
• Corbin McLean posted a time of 7.71 seconds in the 60m and 8.81 seconds in the 60m hurdles to advance to Saturday's semifinals.
• Kyndall Hudson recorded a time of 1:36.70 to finish eighth in the 600m.
