KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State women's soccer team lost 7-0 to Georgia on Sunday night at Fifth Third Bank Stadium. KSU drops to 1-1 all-time against the Bulldogs at home.
Georgia's Mallie Mackenzie and Joyelle Washington scored in the opening 12 minutes to build an early 2-0 lead.
The Bulldogs added three more goals in the first half to take a 5-0 lead into halftime.
Despite allowing 17 shot attempts in the second half, the KSU defense and
Kaylee Hammer held Georgia to two goals over the final 45 minutes. Hammer finished the night with a career-high nine saves.
Georgia totaled 31 shots, with 16 on target. The Owls finished with seven shots and one on-goal.
Macie Rainwater led the KSU attack with two shots.
Next Match
The Owls travel to Knoxville, Tenn. to face another SEC opponent, the Tennessee Volunteers Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
