COACH OCTAVIA BLUE QUOTES

On today's performance…

"I feel like we can take a lot of good things away from the third and fourth quarter today. We got in, didn't give up and fought back. It was a tough start today. We hit 11 threes in our last game and couldn't hit many from outside. Our three-point shooting really gets us going. Georgia Tech's size today really got to us, and it was tough for us to score over their size. We played tough to end the game today, but we can't hang our heads because we have another Power-5 team in a few days that we have to get prepared for."

On playing tough games early in the season…

"It's huge. I think by the time we get to conference play; we will be battled tested. We are playing a lot of top teams early and we are growing up as we play these teams. I'm excited about where we are going. I like our toughness and we are going to keep working on that."

HOW IT HAPPENED

Georgia Tech opened the game on a 13-2 run behind three three-pointers from Cameron Swartz over the first 3:59.

KSU bounced back after the Yellow Jackets' fast start with a 6-0 run of its own as Carly Hooks, Jah'Che Whitfield and Gabi Legister each knocked down a bucket to cut the deficit to five, with 2:43 remaining in the first quarter.

The Yellow Jackets closed out the quarter scoring the final eight points to push the lead to double-digits, 20-8.

Bre'Lyn Snipes led the Owls with five second quarter points, including a buzzer-beater three-pointer as Georgia Tech took a 37-17 lead into the half.

Hooks, Gillian Piccolino and Amani Johnson paced KSU in the third, as the trio combined for 10 of the Owls 15 points.

The Owls held Georgia Tech to 5-of-14 (35.7 percent) from the field in the fourth, but the Yellow Jackets proved too much, securing the 65-39 victory.
