Owls Fall at Georgia

THE STORYLINE
Kennesaw State women's basketball fell to Georgia 89-47 Wednesday night at Stegeman Coliseum. Jah'Che Whitfield led the Owls with 12 points, while Amani Johnson posted nine points, three rebounds and three assists. In extended game action, sophomore Keyarah Berry finished with a career-high eight points and career-best three rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED
KSU went 3-for-7 from the floor over the first four minutes, including a corner three-pointer from Whitfield to keep the deficit at 10-7 despite Georgia making five of its first seven shots.

The Bulldogs closed the quarter by scoring the final 20 points to grab a 30-7 lead.

The Owls shot 6-of-11 from the field in the second quarter and outscored UGA 15-14, forcing 4 turnovers. Prencis Harden and Berry led the KSU attack with four points.

Johnson paced Kennesaw State in the third, scoring five points and Stacie Jones contributed three of her own. The Owls couldn't gain any ground on the Bulldogs, as Georgia pushed the lead to 66-33 after 30 minutes of action.

Whitfield knocked down consecutive three-pointers and Bre'Lyn Snipes connected on her second from beyond the arc as KSU knocked down three triples in the final quarter, but the Bulldogs hit five of their own and earned the 89-47 win.

UP NEXT
The Owls play their third-straight road game at Chattanooga Monday at 7 p.m.
