CHARLOTTE – Kennesaw State bounced back from its first conference loss of the season, as the Owls claimed their seventh sweep of the season with a 3-0 victory (25-19, 25-20, 25-11) over new ASUN member Queens on Saturday afternoon in ASUN volleyball action from Curry Arena. The Owls improved to 10-4 overall, 3-1 in league play with the victory, while Queens dropped to 5-12, 0-4 in the conference.

OWL OF THE GAME: Freshman
Manu Johnsen recorded her first career double-double, thanks to career-highs in kills (16) and digs (13). She also recorded three aces in the match.

STAT OF THE GAME: The Owls nearly doubled the kill total from the Royals (44-25), and held Queens to a .102 hitting percentage (25K-14E-108TA).
SET ONE: Though the Owls lead nearly the entire way, they could not get separation from the home team for the majority of the match. KSU's largest lead the entire set was just five late in the set, while Johnsen scored the winning kill to put the Owls up 1-0.
SET TWO: Another set where KSU led the whole way but Queens kept hanging close. KSU held its largest lead at 18-12, before the Royals rallied to close within 22-20. Two straight kills from Johnsen, along with a block by Johnsen and
Claire Parsons ended the set to put KSU up 2-0.
SET THREE: The Owls scored 11 of the first 14 points and never looked back on the way to the 14-point set win.
QUOTEABLE: "I'm happy with the win, but frankly our team is still reeling a little bit from getting our butts kicked last night. We have another gear in us that we're simply not finding right now. Some of it is certainly physical and technical, while much of it is mental.

I believe in this team with every ounce I have, but we have to look in the mirror on some things and make some improvements before a huge home and away series coming up with Jacksonville State."
– KSU head coach Keith Schunzel
