JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – Kennesaw State and Jacksonville State played a thriller Sunday night in ASUN volleyball play, as the JSU Gamecocks won the first, fourth and fifth sets to hand the Owls a second-straight conference loss, this time by a 3-2 score (21-25, 27-25, 25-18, 22-25, 15-10). The Owls dropped to 7-7 overall, and 1-2 in ASUN play. while the Gamecocks improved to 12-4, 2-1 in the conference.
It was a complete turnaround from a day ago, as the Owls improved in nearly every area. After falling behind 1-0 in the match, the Owls bounced back with two straight wins for a 2-1 edge. KSU then jumped out to a 10-6 advantage in the fourth, but couldn't hold back the hosts who stormed back to claim the set. The Gamecocks then took an early lead in the deciding fifth set on the way to the five-point win.

NOTES:
- Lauren Chastang posted her sixth double-double of the season with 11 kills and 12 digs.
- A season-high four players notched double-figures in kills. Joining Chastang was Emma Schurfranz (14), Dani Ballou (13) and Claire Parsons (11).
- The Owls posted nine service aces and recorded 15 total team blocks.
NEXT TIME OUT: The Owls host their ASUN home opener on Friday, Oct. 1 at 7 pm against Liberty in the Convocation Center.
